Originally from Rochester, Minnesota and now based in Philadelphia, Trapp Sota is an artist, producer, engineer, DJ, and multidisciplinary creative building an interconnected platform for original music, production, conversation, and artist discovery.
Music started with production—experimenting with sounds, building beats, and learning how to turn a feeling into something people could hear. That curiosity led into engineering, where Trapp developed a deeper understanding of how records come together and began shaping a distinct voice as an artist.
Since then, Trapp has continued releasing original music while producing, recording, and evolving creatively. The sound pulls from hip-hop, R&B, rock, country, and anything else that sparks an idea. Rather than fitting neatly into one genre, the focus stays on music that feels honest, captures the moment, and sounds unmistakably personal.
Today, Trapp is expanding into DJing at local venues, using the decks as another way to connect with people, test creative instincts, and experience music beyond the studio. Whether making a beat, recording a song, mixing a session, or controlling the room through a set, every part of the process feeds the next.
Selected credits include writing an original jingle for Scrub Daddy, working with artists including Drake, Ski Mask the Slump God, and Savvy Melado, and opening for A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Zeddy Will, and Lola Brooke. Through Sota Different, the Sota Tired podcast, live music reviews, and SOTA Mag, Trapp brings the records and the surrounding culture into one creative ecosystem—direct, versatile, independently minded, and built for long-term ownership. Sota Different is more than a name; it is the approach behind every record, set, and idea.

Scope, payments & third parties
Production, consulting, management strategy, editorial, and creative services are governed by the scope, price, timeline, revision limits, cancellation terms, and deliverables confirmed in writing for that project.
Management services are limited to strategy and career-path development unless a separate written agreement says otherwise. They do not automatically include booking, production, engineering, photography, legal advice, financial advice, funding, or final decision-making authority.
Purchases or activity completed through third-party websites are also subject to that provider’s terms. Contact Sota Different before paying if any price, license, deliverable, or policy is unclear.
